Organizers can be identified by their badges. You may also email report@wordcamp.org at any time during or after the event. The organizing team will investigate every reported incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Purpose<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why this Code of Conduct exists<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A welcoming space for everyone<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the goals of WordCamp is to be inclusive to the largest number of contributors, with the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all.This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior. We invite all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other participants to help us realize a safe and positive conference experience for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Open Source Citizenship<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building a shared community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investing in the people who participate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A supplemental goal of this Code of Conduct is to increase open source citizenship by encouraging participants to recognize and strengthen the relationships between our actions and their effects on the WordPress community.Communities mirror the societies in which they exist. Positive action is essential to counteract the many forms of inequality and abuses of power that exist in society. If you see someone who is making an extra effort to ensure our community is welcoming, friendly, and encourages all participants to contribute to the fullest extent, we want to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Expected Behavior<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What we ask of every participant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert organizers if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct, even if they seem inconsequential.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of this community.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remember that the event venue may be shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Unacceptable Behavior<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is not tolerated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability; inappropriate use of nudity or sexual images (including in presentation slides); deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use of harmful language or behavior that a reasonable person would find offensive, hostile, or otherwise inappropriate at a professional event.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Real or implied threat of professional or financial damage or harm.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. Consequences<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens when behavior crosses the line<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Action will be taken<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unacceptable behavior from any community member, including sponsors, attendees, speakers, organizers, volunteers, and others with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated.Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the conference without warning (and without refund in the case of a paid event).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. Scope<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where this Code of Conduct applies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All conference venues and online spaces<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We expect all conference participants (sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other guests) to abide by this Code of Conduct at all conference venues and conference-related social events. This includes the Phoenix Convention Center, the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown hotel block, sponsor-hosted side events, and the official WCUS social channels (Slack, X, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7.
